Cyclist Blane Morden killed in a vehicle collision in Hamilton

USA: Free $30 Oye! Times readers Get FREE $30 to spend on Amazon, Walmart…The Hamilton Police Service Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating the City’s 9th traffic fatality and is asking witnesses to contact them.

On June 8th, 2010, at approximately 2:30 p.m., a collision involving a cyclist and motor vehicle occurred on Upper James St. north of Stone Church Rd. A 21 yr. old male was riding his bicycle northbound on the east sidewalk of Upper James St. when he was struck by a Ford Explorer that was being driven by a 49 yr. old Hamilton man. The Explorer was traveling southbound on Upper James St. and making a left turn into a private driveway.

The cyclist, identified as Blane MORDEN of Jarvis, suffered serious injuries and was transported to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

  1. Really too bad another young life. Vehicles underestimate the speed these road bikes travel at, and make the turn thinking they’ll beat them easily.
