On Tuesday, June 8th at 5:52 p.m. Winnipeg Police Service Uniform officers, as well as the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to a serious motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian in the first 100 block of Shamrock Drive.

The investigation has revealed that an 11 year old female youth was crossing the street and was struck by a vehicle, driven by a 30 year old male who was travelling westbound on Shamrock Drive.

The youth was transported to the hospital in critical condition suffering from injuries to her upper body. She has since been upgraded to stable condition.

The investigation is continuing by members of the Winnipeg Police Service Central Traffic Unit. At this time there are no charges pending.
