Construction equipment theft in Toronto

On Monday, March 15, 2010, at noon, police responded to a call for a break-and-enter in the Lawrence Avenue East/Midland Avenue area.

It is reported that:

– three men broke into a rental storage facility which contained construction equipment,

– using a forklift, which belonged to the rental company, the men loaded heavy construction equipment on a tractor-trailer, which also belonged to the rental company,

– the men then fled the scene in the stolen tractor-trailer, containing $117,000 of construction equipment,

– the tractor-trailer was located in York Region shortly after, without the construction equipment.

The three men are all described as:

1) white, 35-45.

Police believe these men may be responsible for other, similar, thefts in the GTA.
