Man robbed after withdrawing money from ATM in Hamilton

The Hamilton Police Service is investigating an early morning robbery that happened at a Hamilton Mountain bank ATM.

On Thursday, June 10th, 2010 at approximately 2:30 a.m., a 20 yr. old male was using a bank ATM at the corner of Upper James St. and Mohawk Rd. when he was confronted by a male armed with a handgun.

It is alleged that the male suspect forced the victim to withdraw cash from his account, remove his shoes and turn over his cell phone and other personal items. A second male suspect was standing outside the ATM. The two suspects then fled to a waiting silver coloured van that fled south on Upper James St. The victim was not physically harmed.

The Division Three Detectives Office continues to investigate and will be reviewing video surveillance from the bank.

The suspects are described as:

Suspect 1 – male, white, thin build, 5’10”, 20-25 yrs., brown hair, dark clothes (armed with handgun)

Suspect 2 – male black, 6’, thin build, dark clothes
