On Saturday, June 19th, 2010, at approximately 4:30 a.m., a 17 year old male victim was in the area of the 1000 block of Selkirk Avenue with family and friends. As the victim and his friends were walking home they were called over by a male that was known to them.

This male suspect confronted the victim and attempted to get the victim to enter into a physical altercation with him. The victim, not wanting to fight, turned and began to walk away. It was at this time that the suspect followed the victim and allegedly stabbed the victim in the upper body. Emergency Services Personnel were contacted and the suspect was able to flee the area prior to police arrival.

The victim was conveyed to the hospital in critical condition and has since been upgraded to stable-guarded condition.

As a result of an investigation by the Division 13 Crime Unit members, the suspect was arrested at approximately 5:00 p.m. inside a residence within the 1000 block of Selkirk Avenue.

Trevor Isaiah OSBORNE, 19 years of Winnipeg, has been charged with the following offences,

– Aggravated Assault
– Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
– Fail to Comply with Condition of Recognizance X4

OSBORNE has been detained in custody at the Winnipeg Remand Centre.
