On June 24, 2010 at approximately 1:45 pm, Sussex RCMP responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Route 870 in Belleisle Creek, N.B.

A 20-year-old mother was driving with her 2-month-old baby girl when she failed to negotiate a turn and lost control of her vehicle. The vehicle left the road and rolled over. The mother was wearing her seat belt and the baby was fastened in a child restraint seat.

The mother and baby were rushed to the hospital with serious injuries. The baby passed away at the hospital. The mother remains in hospital with non life threatening injuries. The name of the baby is not being released at this time. An RCMP re-constructionist is on the scene investigating the cause of the crash.
