The police investigation was initiated on May 29th when a family member reported that an unknown male had taken possession of Paula Leclair’s apartment.
Following the first degree murder charge against Mr. Cleroux, information was obtained by Major Crime investigators causing them to look into the disappearance of two of Cleroux’s former spouses.
Lise ROY, then aged 27, had not been heard from since 1990; Jean ROCK, then aged 32, had not been heard from since 2003.
Neither of the women had been reported missing to police. Family members believed that the women had simply moved away and relocated and had no further contact with their families.
To date, the whereabouts of Lise Roy and Jean Rock’s bodies remain unknown and have not been located.
As a result of further police investigation, which has been ongoing since June 2nd, Camille Cleroux is now being charged with two additional counts of first degree murder in connection with the deaths of Lise Roy and Jean Rock. He was arrested yesterday morning on these charges at the Regional Detention Centre. He was brought to the police station where he was interviewed and subsequently booked on the charges.
Mr. Cleroux will appear in courtroom #6 at 9:30am today.
