On Sunday morning, June 27, 2010 at approximately 3:45 am, Caledonia RCMP (District 11) responded to a fatal motor vehicle crash on Route 126 in Canaan Station, just north of Moncton.

The driver of the vehicle lost control of her truck and went off the road. The 51-year-old Riverview woman was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene. She was not wearing her seatbelt. The passenger in the vehicle was wearing her seatbelt and escaped with minor injuries. She was taken to the hospital for medical treatment and was released a few hours later.

An RCMP re-constructionist was called to investigation the crash. The initial investigation suggests that speed, alcohol and not wearing the seatbelt were contributing factors. The name of the victim is not being released at this time.
