The RCMP’s Major Crime Unit is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a 24-year-old man in connection with a murder in Geary, N.B.

On May 1, 2013, at approximately 12:45 a.m., police officers with the Oromocto RCMP responded to a 911 call at a residence on Branch Road in Geary, where they discovered the body of a 61-year-old man.

A 47-year-old man from Geary was arrested without incident at the scene, but police are still looking for a second man, who is a suspect in the incident.

24-year-old David John Doucette, also known as “DJ”, is described as a Caucasian man, of medium height, with a thin build. He has dark-coloured hair, brown eyes, and a tattoo on the left side of his neck. He has some facial hair and tattoos on both arms. He was seen leaving the scene on foot and was wearing blue jeans and a t-shirt. Doucette was living in Geary, but is believed to be originally from Spryfield, N.S.

Police say the individuals were known to each other, and are treating this as an isolated incident. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of David John Doucette is asked not approach him, and to contact police or Crime Stoppers immediately.

The RCMP’s Forensic Identification Section and Police Dog Services are assisting in the ongoing investigation.
