On June 29, 2010, members of the Winnipeg Police Service were dispatched to the area of the Assiniboine Park regarding the theft of a statue.

The investigation has revealed that a bronze Leo Mol sculpture was stolen from the Leo Mol garden area of the park.

The sculpture is described as being approximately 112 centimetres in height and weighing approximately 150 lbs. The sculpture was damaged when it was removed from its bronze base.

The value of the sculpture is estimated at approximately $18,000.00.

A second statue within close proximity also sustained damage as a result of the incident.
