Harley Davidson FXST motorcyclist dies in a fatal collision at westbound 16 Avenue NE, Calgary

On the 9th of May 2013, at approximately 2050hrs a single vehicle collision took place on the on-ramp from southbound 52 Street onto westbound 16 Avenue NE, Calgary.
 
A Harley Davidson FXST motorcycle was being operated by a lone, 38 year old male, and was negotiating the right bend in the roadway when the bike came into contact with the curb.  The resulting interaction caused the rider to be thrown from the motorcycle and land in the traffic lane.
 
The male was transported from the scene by EMS to the Foothills Medical Centre, but later succumbed to his injuries.
 
Speed is being investigated as a possible factor in this collision.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in this collision at this time.
