Ottawa woman Yolande Knight defrauds Total Communication Environment to the tune of $1.1 million

The Ottawa Police Service has charged a 46-yr-old woman with 1 count of Fraud Over $5000, 1 count of Breach of Trust, 1 Count of Theft Over $5000, 1 Count of Uttering a Forged Document and 1 Count of Possession of Proceeds of Crime.

An investigation was commenced in September 2009 after a provincially funded agency responsible for the care of disabled adults came forward with a complaint. A review of financial records resulted in the agency learning that their Financial Director had been responsible for the misappropriation of in excess of $1.1 million dollars over a period of nine years.

Yolande Knight, age 46, of Ottawa was arrested on July 1, 2010. She will appear in court on July 2, 2010 for a bail hearing.

  1. I used to work with her back in 1998-99 and never would have thought she would do such a horrible thing. She knows what and who she is stealing from and yet still she dcomment_IDn’t stop herself from doing it. I personally hope they throw the book at her.
