On Wednesday, June 30, 2010, in the early morning hours, police responded to a call at an apartment at 240 Scarlett Road.

It is reported that:

– police located a woman with obvious signs of trauma,

– she was pronounced at the scene,

– the victim’s son was taken into custody without incident.

The victim has been identified as Barbara Starkey-Brailsford, 78.

A post-mortem examination was conducted on Thursday, July 1, 2010.

The cause of death has been determined to be sharp force injuries to the body.

Thomas Brailsford, 49, is charged with First-Degree Murder.

He was scheduled to appear in court on Thursday, July 1, 2010, 60 Queen Street West, 9 a.m., room 101.
