It has been confirmed that Mayor Rob Ford will not be appearing on his weekly radio show on Sunday. The unusual announcement has come after key allegations surface against Toronto’s Mayor having been caught on camera while using drug. However, the announcement of the radio station, to have canceled the show this weekend, was alleged not to be related to those allegations. Ford has called the allegations “absolutely not true.”

It was reported by two newspersons of Toronto Star on Thursday, that they have personally witnessed the alleged video which apparently shows Mayor Rob Ford using drugs. The report stated that the journalists viewed the video on May 3, depicting Ford to be intoxicated sitting in a chair in some room, while lighting and smoking from what appeared to be a glass crack pipe. Meanwhile, a U.S.-based gossip website Gawker.com also reported on Thursday night to have been offered to buy the alleged video by a group of Somali men allegedly involved in the drug trade. So far the video has not been verified by any personnel, neither has its authenticity been tested.

Gawker recently launched an online fundraising campaign to purchase the video through the website Indiegogo. Gawker claims to buy the video and release it online, in case it succeeds in raising $200,000. As of 8:30 p.m. on Friday the website had gathered an impressive $34,000, however later on Saturday morning, the number climbed to $44,956, with another group posting a similar plea.
