Kevin William Harris has been charged with housebreaking with intent, unlawful confinement, robbery, sexual assault, theft under $5,000, possess break in instruments, trespassing at night and resisting a peace officer. He remains in custody.
Harris was arrested just after 2 a.m. on Sunday, July 4 at 117 Street and 100 Avenue. The male, who was found sleeping on a patio, resisted police in the arrest and sustained some non-life threatening injuries. Police members were unharmed.
Background:
West Division detectives are looking for information regarding a break and enter that occurred on July 1, 2010 and a person of interest who was leaving the area after the incident.
At approximately 2 p.m. in the area of 100 Avenue and 150 Street, the female owner of the home answered a knock at the door. A male at the door then allegedly forced his way inside her home. A few valuable items were taken from the residence and the woman – who is in her 90’s – was allegedly assaulted. She sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
A male in his 30’s was observed leaving the residence shortly after the B&E.
He is described as a Caucasian male, approximately between 6’ and 6’5” feet tall, muscular, weighing approximately 200 lbs. He has brown hair with some grey, which was tied in a braided pony tail that was approximately six inches long. At the time of the B&E the male was wearing black track pants, a black T-shirt and black running shoes. The suspect left the area on a black, three-wheeled bicycle that sits low to the ground, with pedals located close to the front wheel.
