Calgary motorcyclist Robert Enstorm dies in a fatal vehicle collision at Tache Avenue intersection

The driver of a motorcycle involved in a hit-and-run collision last weekend has succumbed to his injuries.
 
Robert Enstorm, 32, of Calgary, died in hospital on Thursday, May 30, 2013.
 
At approximately 3:30 p.m., on Sunday, May 26, 2013, a motorcycle and a cube van collided at the intersection of Tache Avenue and Centre Street North.
 
The motorcycle, a 2008 Honda CBR600 with two occupants, was travelling southbound in the left-hand lane of Centre Street, while the cube van with one occupant was eastbound on Tache Avenue N.W.
 
The cube van advanced onto Centre Street against a stop sign and turned left to head northbound.
 
The motorcycle struck the driver’s side of the cube van and skidded southbound on its left side for approximately 17 metres. Both occupants of the motorcycle were ejected. The cube van fled the scene northbound on Centre Street.
 
Police apprehended the driver of the cube van a short time after the collision. He was released without charges, pending the outcome of the investigation.
 
The passenger of the motorcycle, a 21-year-old man, sustained serious injuries. The driver of the cube van, a 32-year-old man, was not injured.
 
The Collision Reconstruction Unit of Calgary Police Service Traffic Section is investigating this incident.
