Vancouver Police are appealing for information in a case involving a possible abduction where the victim has not been located.

Around 10:40 p.m. on the evening of July 6th, Vancouver Police were called after several people heard a woman`s cries for help coming from a vehicle near the 600 block of E. Pender Street.

Witnesses reported seeing a turquoise 1995 Ford Aerostar van in the block and heard a woman shouting for help from inside before the vehicle drove out of sight. A quick thinking witness wrote down the license plate number and gave it to police.

The license plate information was broadcast to neighbouring police agencies and Surrey RCMP found the vehicle around 11:00 p.m.  Vancouver Police were called and the driver was taken in for questioning.

The woman has not been found and all attempts to identify and locate the woman to confirm her well-being have been unsuccessful.
