A man faces charges in connection with the homicide of Tara Lynn Park.

On June 1, at 10:15 p.m., officers responded to 117 Albro Lake Road to a report of disturbance in a common area of the apartment complex. Officers were on scene within minutes and discovered the deceased body of 33-year-old Tara Lynn Park in a stairwell. Her death was determined to be a homicide and it was not a random act.

Yesterday, at 3:30 p.m., police arrested a man in connection with this homicide. While he was being questioned by investigators, the suspect punched an officer in the face, threw a chair at officers and damaged equipment from the interview room. The officers did not sustain any injuries.

Twenty-eight-year-old Christopher Kenneth Hutchinson of Dartmouth will appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court later today. He faces charges of second degree murder, assaulting a police officer with a weapon and property damage.
