On July 7, 2010, members of the Street Crimes Unit became involved in a drug investigation as part of a proactive strategy in the West End and Downtown areas.

The investigation has revealed that the network was utilizing two locations in the area of the 600 block of Notre Dame Avenue and the 300 block of Maryland Street.

Investigators executed Controlled Drug and Substance Act search warrants at both locations with the assistance of the Tactical Support Team. As a result, the following items were located and seized:

103 rocks of crack cocaine – estimated street value $2000.00
$900.00 Canadian currency
A small amount of U.S. currency
Bear spray
Switch blade
Cellular phones

Due to the efforts of numerous members, including other community groups, 11 individuals were taken into custody which resulted in 8 arrests being made. They are as follows:

15 year female
16 year old male
18 year old male
18 year old female
Two 19 year old males
23 year old male
27 year old female

They are facing several drug and weapon related offences.
