Etobicoke police has arrested 22-year-old Alexander Khalilov, who is charged with second-degree murder, as a suspect of slaying three people in an Etobicoke townhouse on Monday. Police revealed in an official statement on Tuesday that the unnamed victims were a man and two women aged between 49 and 75. Khalilov was presented in court on Tuesday morning, from where he was returned to police for investigation until second court appearance on Friday to schedule a bail hearing.

Even after a whole day past the triple homicide, neighbors in the quiet Etobicoke complex at 65 Old Burnhamthorpe Rd. remain completely disturbed and are trying to regain a sense of normalcy. 82-year-old Frank O’Rourke was returning home from running errands, when he stated that “shocking, that’s the word for it.” O’Rourke alleged that he had been living in the complex since 1997, and currently resided only four doors down the site of incident, though he claims to have not known the family inside.

Police has confirmed that the suspect was arrested from near the crime scene on Monday night. So far Police has refrained from revealing the cause or causes of death, though it shared that all victims showed “obvious signs of injury” and were pronounced dead at the scene. Neighbors living in the quit complex had to leave for work on Tuesday morning by passing through police tape that remained strung around their usually quiet neighborhood.
