Windsor man Tony Davis uses a machete to collect his 12 packs of beer

Windsor Police have a man in custody after an incident took place on Howard Avenue.  At 11:10 p.m., Friday July 16, 2010 uniformed officers responded to an apartment building in the 800 block of Howard Avenue.  Upon arrival, officers were approached by a frightened male who advised that some of his friends were being held hostage by a man with a machete in an apartment.  E.S.U. officers arrived on scene and a perimeter was set up around the building.  A short time later officers observed 4 males exit the building.  These males advised police that they had just been threatened by a male swinging a machete.  At 11:35 p.m. E.S.U. officers exited the apartment building with the suspect in custody.
The investigation revealed that the suspect was owed a 12 pack of beer by the occupants of the apartment and he was there to collect.  When the suspect did not receive the beer he began waving the machete around and threatening to remove their limbs. 
The suspect was taken into custody without further incident. 
No one was injured during this ordeal.

Tony DAVIS – 
29 years of Windsor is charged with three counts of Assault With a Weapon and two counts of Breach Recognizance. He remains in custody at the time of this release.
