Nova Scotia cyclist Norma Jean Denney dies in fatal vehicle collision at Highway 125

RCMP Cape Breton Traffic Services are releasing the name of a 53-year-old cyclist who was killed yesterday on Highway 125.

On July 30th, 2013, at approximately 2:27 p.m., Cape Breton RCMP Traffic Services, assisted by Cape Breton Regional Police, responded to a motor vehicle collision between Exit 1 and 2 near North Sydney. The cyclist was killed when she was struck by another vehicle coming from behind.  The driver of the vehicle, an 18-year-old man from Sydney Mines operating a Honda Accord, was not hurt in the collision.

Norma Jean Denney, 53, from Florence, Nova Scotia, was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation is continuing
