Edmund Asante and Jude Antonin of Ottawa arrested for attempted robbery on a OC Transpo bus

The Ottawa Police Service Robbery Unit has laid charges against two male suspects following an attempted personal robbery on July 21, 2010, in the area of Hurdman Station.

On July 21, 2010, at approximately 1:15 am, two adult male suspects boarded a bus and approached a female passenger. The thieves demanded personal property and threatened the victim. The female alerted the bus driver who contacted OC Transpo security officers. The males were subsequently arrested and turned over to Ottawa Police officers. No weapons were seen.

The Ottawa Police Robbery Unit has charged Edmund ASANTE 18 years-old, and Jude ANTONIN 24 years-old, both from Ottawa, with one count of attempt robbery, one count of uttering threats. ASANTE was also charged with one count of breach of his youth probation.

Both will appear in court today.
