On Saturday, July 24, 2010, at approximately 3 a.m., York Regional Police received a 9-1-1 call advising a male was armed in a residence, located on Bayview Avenue.
York Regional Police uniform officers arrived on scene within minutes of the call and heard the sound of gunshots coming from inside the home and immediately contained the area. Officers from the Emergency Response Unit (ERU) secured the area to protect local residents and the general public.

At approximately 8:30 a.m., contact was made with the suspect and he peacefully surrendered himself to members of the ERU outside the home and was arrested without incident.
