The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC), Corner Brook Region, Child Exploitation Unit has charged a 32 year old male in relation to a child pornography investigation.

On Tuesday, September 10, 2013 the RNC Child Exploitation Unit, with assistance from the RCMP Internet Child Exploitation Unit, Technical Crime Unit and Patrol Division, executed a search warrant on a residential property in central Newfoundland. Police had
received information regarding the possession and distribution of child pornography material over the internet. As a result, a computer system and multiple mobile storage devices were seized as evidence and will undergo a forensic evaluation.

Following a month long investigation the 32 year old central Newfoundland man was arrested by the RNC Child Exploitation Unit and charged with possession of child pornography and making available/distributing child pornography. The accused was held to appear in Gander Provincial Court today.

Interagency cooperation is critical to combating these types of offences and the RNC would like to thank the policing agencies involved for their continued commitment to the protection of children.
