A Harris County Texas man wanted for murder in the U.S. has been arrested in Ottawa following a joint investigation by the Ottawa Police Service and the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA).

Lox Gorme (also known as Misael Yacas), 39-years-old of Cypress Meadow, Texas, is believed to have entered Canada via bus through Windsor, Ontario, on July 30, 2010. He was screened by CBSA Officers but no warrants were found in the system at the time. As a result, he was permitted to enter Canada. Once the U.S. warrant was activated, the CBSA, working with Ottawa Police and other law enforcement agencies, immediately proceeded to track him down and arrest him at the MacDonald-Cartier International Airport as he waited for a flight for Singapore.

He has been turned over to the Canada Border Services Agency and is being held on the active warrant in the U.S.
