Toronto man Nabil Huruy’s charges upgraded to first degree murder

On Saturday, September 14, 2013, at 1:18 a.m., police responded to the Rotana cafe at 1530 Danforth Avenue for a stabbing.

It is alleged that:

– a 45-year-old man was seated in a cafe within his community when the accused attacked the man without provocation

– the accused fled and was located a short time later with the assistance of the public

The man was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Nabil Huruy, 23, of Toronto, was charged with:

1. Attempted Murder
2. two counts of Carry Concealed Weapon
3. Weapons Dangerous

He appeared in court at Old City Hall on Sunday, September 15, 2013.

On Monday, September 16, 2013, the man succumbed to his injuries in hospital.

He has been identified as Dominic Parker, 45, of Toronto.

Charges against the accused have been upgraded to First-Degree Murder.

His next court appearance is to be scheduled.

  1. This senseless murder has stolen a good man from us. It’s time to bring back the death penalty, instead of “hug a thug” and “house arrest” – criminals are laughing at our “justice” system …
