44 year old Sudbury man charged with possession of child pornography

In June 2010, the Greater Sudbury Police Service Cyber Crime Unit received information that a Sudbury area male possessed and was distributing graphic images of child pornography. The Cyber Crime Unit entered into an extensive investigation to identify the unknown party.

On the 3rd of August 2010, the Greater Sudbury Police Service Cyber Crime Unit and uniformed and plainclothes officers executed a search warrant at a Sudbury area residence that had been identified as associated to the suspect.

Officers seized a computer and evidence associated to the offences. A large number of child pornography images and videos were located. Also a controlled substance was located during the search.

As a result, the 44 year old Sudbury male has been charged with the following offences

Possession of Child Pornography X3

Make Available Child Pornography X2

Distribute Child Pornography X2

Possession of a Controlled Substance X1

The accused will appear for bail court at 155 Elm Street West Sudbury on the 4th of August 2010.
