Victims of a home invasion last Friday are now facing drug and weapon-related charges.

On Friday July 30, 2010, around 12:57 p.m., officers attended an apartment on Grenfell Street in Oshawa in regards to a home invasion in which unknown suspects allegedly assaulted two males and female in an unsuccessful attempt to locate drugs and money.

The male and female residents of the apartment were transported to hospital to be treated for minor injuries. During the course of their investigation, officers located a quantity of marihuana, cash, ammunition and drug paraphernalia. As a result, a search warrant was executed at the residence and all items were seized.

Rhonda O’HEARON, age 29, Roy MCLAREN, age 45, and James GIBBS, age 25, of Grenfell Street in Oshawa, are each charged with: Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking and Possession of Prohibited or Restricted Ammunition. The three were held for a bail hearing.

Police have very little information regarding the original home invasion incident and are appealing to the public for their assistance. Investigators do not believe this was a random act.
