RCMP in Lamèque are requesting the public’s assistance in locating a missing Sainte-Marie-Saint-Raphaël man.

83-year-old Jean-Louis Mallet, was reported missing on the afternoon of October 22, 2013. A neighbour noticed that his car was no longer in his driveway at approximately 6 a.m. on October 22.  He was driving a white, four-door, 1999 Chevrolet Lumina. The car’s license plate is NBM 182. He is described as being approximately 5’8″ in height, and weighing approximately 155 pounds. He has grey and white hair and blue eyes. His hair is described as being whiter now than it is in the photograph provided.

Lamèque RCMP are also investigating damage to the wharf in Sainte-Marie-Saint-Raphaël. Investigators don’t yet know whether the damages are linked to Mr. Mallet’s disappearance. The RCMP’s Dive Team has been called in and will be conducting underwater searches in that area on the afternoon of October 23.
