Calgary man Jose Haegandro Sandoval-Barillas charged with sexual assault

The Calgary Police Service has charged a man in connection with a recent sexual assault.
 
At approximately 5:30 a.m., on Sunday, Oct. 20, 2013, a teenager was walking in the 2500 block of 36 Street N.E., when a man approached her on foot and attempted to start a conversation.
 
Suddenly, the offender grabbed the victim and forced her to a nearby area where she was threatened and sexually assaulted.
 
On Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2013, the alleged offender was arrested by police. Jose Haegandro Sandoval-Barillas 23, of Calgary, is charged with one count each of sexual assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
