Cyclist dies from head injuries in Toronto

On Thursday, July 15, 2010, at 8:18 p.m., police were called to the scene of a medical call involving a cyclist.

It is reported that:

– a 40-year-old man was riding his bicycle, southbound on Caledonia Park Road, at high speed approaching a green light at Davenport Road,

– the traffic light changed and he made a sharp left turn onto Davenport Road, heading eastbound in the westbound curb lane,

– he lost control of the bicycle and fell to the roadway.

The cyclist sustained life-threatening head injuries when his head struck the ground and he was taken to hospital.

On Friday August 13, 2010, at 5:00 p.m., he died as a result of the injuries he sustained.
