District 3 RCMP are investigating a fatal motor vehicle collision that occurred on McKay Highway in Quispamsis, N.B.

On August 19, 2010 at approximately 11:15 pm the RCMP responded to a vehicle crash on McKay Highway near mile marker 142 in Quispamsis. It appears the vehicle lost control when attempting to pass another vehicle. The car left the road and flipped several times injuring the four occupants from Moncton. Two of them were rushed to Saint John Regional Hospital with serious injuries. The two others had minor injuries.

Early this morning, one of the victims, a 24-year-old woman from Moncton, died as a result of her injuries in the Saint John Regional Hospital.

An RCMP re-constructionist attended the scene to investigate the cause of the collision.

The name of the victim is not being released at this time.

The investigation is ongoing.
