13-yea-old boy charged with robbery with a firearm in Toronto

On Monday, August 23, 2010, police responded to a robbery call on Chimneystack Road, in the Keele Street/Steeles Avenue West area.

It is alleged that:

– two pizza delivery employees, aged 21 and 27, delivered a food order to an address on Chimneystack Road,

– one of the men was approached by the suspect and asked to inspect the food,

– the suspect then pulled out a gun, pointed it at the head of one of the men, then took the food and a quantity of cash from the man,

– the suspect then demanded the man’s cellphone and more cash,

– a second suspect then approached the delivery car, where the second victim was still seated,

– the armed suspect then pointed the gun at the second victim and demanded his cellphone and cash,

– both suspects then ran off.

A 13-year-old boy, of Toronto, has been charged with Robbery while Armed with a Firearm.

The accused cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

He was scheduled to appear in court at 2201 Finch Avenue West, on Tuesday, August 24, 2010, room 204-F, 10 a.m.

The investigation is ongoing.
