Bahroz Manafi charged with attempted murder in Ottawa

The Ottawa Police Service Guns and Gangs Unit have laid numerous charges against an Ottawa man following a shooting incident in the area of Gore Private.

On Friday night just before midnight, officers were dealing with suspicious persons within the Gore Private area when a foot pursuit ensued. A male suspect shot at officers while running away from them. The male was later arrested at the scene. No one was hurt during the incident that involved two East Division Neighborhood officers. A firearm was located by police at the scene of the shooting.

Bahroz Manafi, 22-years-old of Ottawa, faces numerous Criminal Code charges including:

Attempt Murder x 2 counts
Discharge firearm with intent to wound, endanger life or prevent arrest x 2 counts
Assaulting peace officer with a weapon x 2 counts
Numerous firearms charges as well as Breach of Probation x 6 counts

In addition, Manafi is also facing numerous firearm-related charges.

Manafi will be appearing before a Justice of the Peace Sunday morning on the charges.
