Kadar Abdillahi and Jamal Omar charged with robbery in Ottawa

The Ottawa Police Service has laid charges in relation to a commercial robbery that occurred on August 17, 2010, at “The Source” located on St. Laurent Blvd.

Kadar ABDILLAHI, 19-years-old of Ottawa, and Jamal OMAR, 18-years-old of Ottawa, are charged jointly with the following Criminal Code offence:

• Robbery with an offensive weapon
• Wearing a disguise
• Conspiracy to commit an indictable offence
• Forcible confinement (2 counts)
• Pointing a firearm
• Possession of property obtained by crime exceeding $5000
• Possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace

OMAR is further charged with:
• Obstructing a police officer
• Fail to comply with a YCJA sentence (3 counts)
• Fail to comply with a court order after remand

Both ABDILLAHI and OMAR attended show cause on August 20, 2010. A video remand date was set for August 23, 2010
