The Vancouver Police are crediting an alert employee and customers of a beer and wine store with the apprehension of a man wanted on a Canada wide warrant.

Thirty-three year old Jeremy Brent Janzen is charged with one count of robbery after allegedly attempting to rob a beer and wine store in the 1400 block of East 41st Avenue on August 25th at 11:00 p.m. He has been remanded in custody after appearing in court earlier today.

Janzen walked into the store just before closing time and allegedly demanded the cashier open the till to give him money. An employee from the adjoining pub realized the store was being robbed and tried to stop Janzen from leaving. A struggle ensued and a number of customers came to the aid of the employee in apprehending Janzen and held onto him until police arrived. There were no injuries.

After taking Janzen into custody, police discovered he was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for breaching his parole conditions.
