The Northeast District RCMP, Tracadie-Sheila detachment, is asking for the public’s help to locate a 67-year-old man who was reported missing.
Emanuel LaPlante, of Sainte-Rose, N.B., was last seen driving south on Route 8 near Williamstown shortly after 1:30 a.m. on December 1, 2013. He had stopped for gas in Tracadie-Sheila on November 30 at about 11 p.m. Police believe he may have been disoriented, as he left without paying.
LaPlante has a medical condition that requires medication that he does not have with him. He is also deaf and mute, and may have trouble communicating.
Emanuel LaPlante is about 5’11’ tall and weighs approximately 150 lbs. He has green eyes and greying/white hair. No description of his clothing is currently available. He is believed to be driving a grey 2002 Toyota Camry, with New Brunswick licence plate GGB 660.
LaPlante has family in Quebec, but he has not made contact with them.
Update: A 67-year-old man from Sainte-Rose, N.B., who had been reported missing was located safe in his vehicle on the morning of December 3, 2013.
The vehicle had become stuck in a snow bank on the Pulp Road, off Route 180, near Bathurst. He was treated in hospital for frostbite, but was not injured.
