In the past week, District 4 RCMP Southeast’s Street Crime Unit has executed two unrelated search warrants resulting in significant cocaine seizures, along with the seizure of other drugs.

On September 15, 2010, a residence and vehicle search was conducted on Charlotte Street in Sackville. Police seized cocaine, marijuana, methadone and hydromorphone, as well as quantity of unidentified pills and cash.

A 20-year-old woman and a 22-year-old man were arrested in the vehicle. Charges are pending against both for possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and possession of the other drugs seized.

On September 10, 2010, a search warrant was executed at a residence on Fort Street in Port Elgin, resulting in the seizure of over 20 grams of cocaine and a large quantity of cash.

A 58-year-old woman was arrested at the residence without incident, and charges for possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking are pending.

District 4 RCMP will continue to disrupt and dismantle illicit drug operations in an effort to make our communities safer and healthier places to live.
