Edmonton Police Service Homicide Section detectives have made an arrest in connection with the case of 25-year-old Andrew McPherson whose body was found in a north end apartment on Tuesday, September 7, 2010.

The homicide investigation led detectives to Onion Lake, Saskatchewan and Lloydminster, Alberta. With the assistance of the RCMP, one person was arrested without incident near Lloydminster, Alberta.

Jordan Cordell Steinhauer, 20, of Edmonton has been charged with 2nd degree murder and a weapons offence.

No further information is being released at this time as this remains an active criminal investigation.

Background:

The Edmonton Police Service responded to a report of a sudden death at an apartment at 149 Avenue and 26 Street after 5 p.m. on Tuesday, September 7, 2010. Upon arrival, EPS members found a deceased male in the suite. The scene was held by investigators until the cause of death could be determined.
