On September 21, 2010 at approximately 9:45 a.m., Uniform members were dispatched to a city building located in the area of the 100 block of Provencher Boulevard regarding a wanted male.

Attending members located the male at which time he was placed under arrest on the strength of the warrant.

As the male was being escorted to the cruiser car, he resisted in attempt to flee and subsequently assaulted both officers to the upper body causing injuries.

Several other officers were dispatched at which time the suspect was brought safely under control.

Both officers required medical treatment in hospital.

John Oligide OLAREWAJU, 35 years has been charged with assault a Peace Officer x 2 and Obstruct/Resist Peace Officer.

He has been detained at the Provincial Remand Centre.
