Man dies in a hunting incident, Perth-Andover, N.B

On September 25, 2010 shortly after 10 am, Perth Andover RCMP were called to the Perth-Andover Hospital to investigate a hunting incident. A 50-year-old man from Kilburn had been rushed to the hospital with a gunshot wound suffered during a hunting expedition in the Beaconsfield area near Perth-Andover. The hunter died in hospital as a result of his injuries.

RCMP Major Crime North and RCMP Forensic Identification members were on scene investigating the incident. The circumstances surrounding this fatal incident are still under investigation. An autopsy is scheduled to be performed today to determine the cause of death.

The name of the victim is not being released at this time pending notification of next of kin. The investigation is ongoing.
