Police are appealing for the public’s assistance in identifying a male suspect responsible for a stabbing incident in Pickering yesterday morning.

On Sunday September 26, 2010 at approximately 9:50 a.m. officers from West Division responded to a stabbing incident on a catwalk near Memory Lane, in the vicinity of Rosefield Road and Finch Avenue in Pickering. The 19-year-old male victim reported he was walking alone north on Memory Lane near Everton Street when a lone male suspect walked past the victim and stabbed him once in the leg area and then fled the vicinity. The victim returned home and contacted police. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he received medical attention for his minor stab wound and was later released from hospital.

Officers staged a perimeter for a K-9 unit search however, the suspect was not located. The investigation is ongoing and police are appealing for information leading to the suspect’s identity.

The suspect is described as: male, black, tall with a slim build and wearing a navy blue sweater and dark pants.
