Doctor George Doodnaught faces more sexual assault charges

The Toronto Police Service began an investigation into allegations of a sexual assault by a doctor in mid-February 2010.

On Thursday, September 30, 2010, George Doodnaught, 61, of Toronto, was charged with 26 additional counts of Sexual Assault.

It is alleged that:

– one assault took place in September 2009 at the Rice Medicine Professional Corp., 1333 Sheppard Avenue East,

– the other assaults occurred at North York General Hospital: one assault took place in June 1992, the remainder between 2006 and February 2010.

The accused has been an anesthesiologist since 1981, and has worked at North York General Hospital, 4001 Leslie Street, for the past 28 years.

Investigators believe there may be more victims.

He is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday, September 30, 2010,2 p.m., at 1000 Finch Avenue West, room 306.
