Courthney Facey and Mike James shot dead in Toronto

On Wednesday, September 29, 2010, at 10:28 p.m., police responded to several calls for shots fired near 1765 Weston Road, in the Weston Road/Lawrence Avenue West area.

Responding officers located two men, 18 and 23, suffering from obvious gunshot wounds. Both men were taken to hospital where they succumbed to their injuries.

The victims have been identified as Courthney Facey, 18, and Mike James, 23, both of Toronto.

Post-mortem examinations are to be scheduled.

It is alleged that:

– the two victims were standing together, near 1765 Weston Road, when a black SUV drove through the laneway and opened fire on the two men,

– the SUV continued driving north on Weston Road towards Lawrence Avenue West,

– several shell casings were found at the scene.

The suspect vehicle is described as a black BMW SUV with after-market rims.
