Karen Anne Rose charged with fraud in Toronto

On Monday, October 4, 2010, police arrested a woman in a fraud investigation involving the sale of a vehicle. She was charged with five offences.

On Wednesday, October 6, 2010, police held a news conference informing the public of the incident as police believed there may have been more victims. As a result, police received further information from the public.

On Friday, October 15, 2010, Karen Anne Rose, 40, of Ajax, was arrested and charged with:

1. four counts of Fraud Under $5,000,
2. Attempt to Obstruct Justice,
3. Possession of Proceeds of Crime.

It is alleged that Karen Anne Rose had received deposits for a rental property she did not own or have authority to rent. It is also alleged that, as a result of the initial news release, Karen Anne Rose began contacting victims telling them they would be paid and not to talk with, or contact, police.

She is scheduled to appear in court at College Park Court on Friday, October 15, 2010, room 501, 10 a.m.
