Chatham-Kent police recovered the body of missing Erieau youth from Lake Erie

In the evening of Saturday June 28th 2014, the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of a missing 14 year old youth within the village of Erieau. A coordinated search effort was initiated utilizing area residents, Chatham-Kent Fire Station #14 (Erieau), and Chatham-Kent Police personnel. Soon after 1:00 AM in the morning of Sunday June 29th, the body of the missing youth was located and recovered from the waters of Lake Erie just off the beach in Erieau.
 
A post mortem was conducted at the London Health Sciences Centre on the 29th of June 2014. As a result no foul play is suspected at this time.
 
At the request of the involved family, Police are not prepared to release the name of the deceased at this time.
