OPP has revealed that the autopsy report confirms that the three found dead in a burnt-out car near Barrie were Samuel Masih and his two young sons. The bodies of 36-year-old Masih and his sons, 10-year-old Tyrese Sutherland and 4-year-old Santosh, were found early Friday morning on a rural dead-end road south of Barrie.

The Ontario Provincial Police confirmed that it was not looking for suspects in the deaths. Sgt. Peter Leon [Peter Leon’s policard] of the OPP alleged that “we’re satisfied that the person responsible for the other two deaths perished in the vehicle as well.” He explained that “with respect to cause of death, that’s something the OPP normally doesn’t speak to.” Leon added that “we won’t be in a position to speak to that due to the ongoing nature of our investigation.” Noticeably, the OPP’s press release only named the father, hence the names of the children were confirmed through neighbours and family friends.

The deceased’s remains were so burnt out that the police failed to identify the victims or the vehicle model. Although the post-mortems were started on Tuesday in Toronto, it took an extra day to verify the findings. Masih, and his two sons, were reported missing at around 1:30 a.m. on Friday. According to Masih’s wife, Brintha Shanmugalingam, she last heard from him at 4 p.m. on Thursday, when he alleged to be taking the boys to a movie. The burning vehicle was discovered on Holick Rd. around 5:40 a.m. on Friday, just a few hundred metres from a drive-in movie theatre.
