Mounties continue to search for MacLellan’s Brook missing man Stephen Robert Willemse

On July 10th, Pictou County RCMP, assisted by the Pictou County Ground Search and Rescue Team (GSAR), are continuing their search for Stephen Robert Willemse of MacLellan’s Brook.

A search of the West Loon Lake area in Pictou County by police and GSAR did not yield any specific clues about Mr. Willemse’s whereabouts. Police will now focus their search efforts on his home and surrounding area. Mr. Willemse drives a white 2011 Ford Ranger with Nova Scotia license plate FHE-189.

Update: The vehicle of a missing person was located by hikers in the MacLellan’s Mountain area of Pictou County on Sunday afternoon at 5:30 p.m.

Sadly, a deceased male was located inside by police. The male is believed to be Stephen Robert Willemse of MacLellan’s Brook who was reported missing on July 9th. His family has been notified.

Police are continuing to investigate and are being assisted by the Medical Examiner’s office.
