Suspect woman Naomi Ross charged with second degree murder

On July 18, 2014 at approximately 4:15 a.m. emergency personnel were dispatched to the 200 block of Salter Street for the report of a stabbing.

An adult female was located suffering from apparent stab wounds.  She was transported to hospital in critical condition where she later succumbed to her injuries.

The victim has been identified as Lorie Maureen Bearbull, 37 years, of Winnipeg.

The investigation has revealed that the victim was walking in the 400 block of Redwood Avenue when she encountered an unknown 20-year-old female.  During this time the two females became involved in an argument resulting in the 20-year-old female suspect stabbing the victim in the upper body multiple times.  The suspect fled and emergency services were contacted. 

On July 24, 2014, 20-year-old, Naomi Ross was arrested and has been charged with 2nd Degree Murder due to her alleged involvement.

The investigation is continuing by the Homicide Unit.
